The resort community of Brighton (and nearest store) is 10 minutes drive away. A golf course is 15 minutes away, as is Lake Waihola, and the swan colony near Waldronville. Kuri Bush is renowned for fishing, surfing and is the inspirational birth place of famous New Zealand poet, James K Baxter.

Nature Experience: Fur seals and nesting birds can often be seen on the beach which is right next to the cottage. Edible mussels and other shell-fish can be collected less than 100 metres from the front door! Look out for dolphins and rabbits from the breakfast table.

Only 5 km from Taieri Mouth, the local fishing village, where visitors can launch their own boat or negotiate boat trips with the local fishermen.
