We invite you to come and visit us on this expansive historic property situated at the entrance to York, Western Australia's first inland town in the heart of the Avon Valley. The town is steeped in history, boasts many wonderful old buildings and is only 97kms from Perth city (a comfortable hour and a quarter's drive). Today, we continue to lavish it with care and attention and devote many hours to the continuing establishment and maintenance of its rambling gardens and extensive grounds, and is the perfect holiday accommodation with self contained cottages and bed and breakfast accommodation. We look forward to sharing its peace and tranquility with you.
Repeated requests from families and couples for self contained accommodation while visiting York, Western Australia encouraged us to set up two fully furnished and equipped self catering cottages. This three bedroom modern cottage is set within the acres of Hillside and enjoys panoramic views of wonderful farmland. Totally private accommodation, it has its own driveway and ample parking. Furnished in a more modern style, it is light, airy and spacious.
Bathroom facilities include a separate toilet. A fully equipped kitchen and all linen is provided and it offers entertainment in the form of television, VCR, DVD, CD and radio with complimentary DVD's.
Enjoys panoramic views of wonderful farmland.

History of Hillside: Hillside was built in 1911 and formed part of the estate of the pioneering Edwards family who lived here for many years, conducted business in York and were finely woven into the fabric of York society in WA. This is reflected in the wonderful architecture of this grand old, much loved house conceived by the famous Sir Talbot Hobbs which has in its heyday, hosted visiting royalty and dignitaries.
Skydiving and hot air ballooning: Our local attractions include many historic buildings and activities such as skydiving and hot air ballooning. Vintage car enthusiasts could while away their time at the York Motor Museum and lovers of history would find much to interest them at the residency museum
Festivals: York stages several Festivals during the year. These include the Country Music Festival in February (every second year), the Olive Festival in June, the Jazz Festival in late September and the Spring Garden Festival in October.
