Old Quarry Ocean Adventures: Old Quarry Ocean Adventures is the gateway to the incredible islands of the Deer Isle - Stonington archipelago, with a campground, practice pond, classroom facilities, and two all-tide launch sites. Our Sea Kayak School offers courses for most any experience level. Whether you are new to the kayaking sport, want to improve your skills, or prepare for the Registered Maine Guide Sea Kayaking Exam, your experience promises to be both educational and fun.
Old Quarry will provide kayaks, paddles, spray skirts, and PFD's. Equipment lists and a recommended reading list will be provided in the course confirmation packet. Full payment is required at time of registration. Deadlines for registration are two weeks prior to course dates, after which a late fee applies. All classes have a four person minimum and a twelve person maximum. All classes begin at 8:00 am. Refunds will be given up to four weeks prior to course dates less a 10% processing fee and solely at the discretion of OQC Inc.

Maine Lobster Bakes: Enjoy an authentic Maine Lobster Bake at our oceanfront facility or on an island. Maine Lobster Bakes are held outdoors (weather permitting) at Old Quarry Ocean Adventures or on an island.
You spent the day kayaking, sailing, hiking, and biking and worked up an appetite. Too tired to cook? Stay with us for a Maine Lobster Bake on the shore side deck at the mouth of Webb Cove. Watch the sun clad sky and distant Isle au Haut change into shades of pink and purple, while dipping chips in salsa. We then will serve you a 1 1/4 pound Maine lobster, corn on the cob, potato salad and beverage. We'll round out the meal with a piece of seasonal berry pie accompanied by tea or coffee.
Enjoy the beauty of the archipelago while dining right on the water. A restaurant on the shore is great but how about dining right on the water watching sea birds, eagles, and seals as you dine. On the way in the sun will be down and we will cruise by Stonington, still a quaint fishing village.

Weddings, Birthdays, and other Functions: Old Quarry's vacation home on Deer Isle oceanfront facilities are an ideal location for your wedding, birthday, or other group function. We can accommodate up to 50 people: Beautiful waterfront ceremonies and receptions, Assistance with event planning, Full catered meals with a choice of having a real Maine Lobster Bake, Rental home and camping accommodations.
Your group will have a memorable as well as educational experience. We teach the fundamentals of kayaking including kayak paddling skills, rescue techniques, navigation and safety, tides and currents, island and waterfront ethics, and dealing with weather. During group tours you will learn about natural history, the gulf of Maine, marine biology, geology, local granite history, the fisheries industry, Leave No Trace principles, tidal pools, and lighthouses.

The rental rates for this property are quoted in USD per property per week.

Refundable security fee: $1,000; Cleaning fee: $175.

Our vacation home on Deer Isle rents from Saturday to Saturday. Checkin is at 4:00 pm, checkout is at 10:00 am. You may arrive at our facility earlier but you may not enter the house until it is cleaned and checked. No pets or smoking allowed.
