Vacation Home in North Captiva Island, South West Florida: Beachfront vacation home on North Captiva Island - Snail's Pace is a brand new island retreat that is only a short walk from either the beaches or a quaint resort area. Your view of the sunsets over the gulf from the oversized screen porch on the third level is spectacular. Stargaze (or bird watch) from the open deck. Vacation home first floor: The "King Room" is, oddly enough, furnished with a king size bed. It has a private bath, TV and sliding doors to a screened entry. "Twin Room" has twin beds with its own bath and TV. Occupants of the "Queen Room" share a bath with the "Fouton Room" if there are extra occupants. A regular-sized washer and dryer are also located on this floor. Vacation home second floor: The living center of the house is located on the third (top) floor. Sliding doors open to the spacious screened in porch. Windows are lightly tinted (throughout) to curtail glare. This floor has an independent heating and air conditioning unit. The 36" television with a VCR, radio, tape deck and CD player, plus a fairly well stocked bookcase of novels, biographies, books on bird and plant identification, etc., comprise the entertainment center. The little alcove is just sufficiently isolated for reading without being completely out of the main stream, and a powder room is also located on this floor. The kitchen is fully equipped: microwave, toaster, coffee maker, garbage disposal, dishwasher, all the tools necessary to prepare your gourmet seafood dinners! Fishing gear is available at the club. This vacation home has magnificent sunset views!

Night life is rather restrictive! Two restaurants are located on the island, Mango's and Barnacle Phil's. The former is just "down the road." The pool bar has become something of an evening attraction. Short walk from the beaches.

Notes: Just off the living area is a large screened in porch with dining area and a highly contested hammock. Adjacent is an open balcony with a magnificent view of sunsets, the moon and stars, the gulf and the sound.
Snail's Pace is a part of a consortium owning a portion of beachfront property. Consequently, there is no problem gaining access to the beach. Parking and shared access to the beach are included in your rental. Club amenities provided in the rental fee also include the use of a golf cart — a wonderful means of exploring the island.
