Holiday House in Carbondale situated on the Crystal River in a quiet location with close proximity to Aspen. This vacation home is a joy to be in - whether falling asleep to the sound of the river, waking to the chatter of hummingbirds, looking up to see a bald eagle fly by in winter or sitting out on the deck on an autumn evening. Stargazing in the hot tub at night is made even more special with the reflection of the moonlight off the river.
The master bedroom opens onto the deck with easy access to the hot tub. It has a king-size bed, fireplace, and window seat from which you can enjoy watching the river and Mount Sopris. The upstairs bedroom has great views with a queen-size bed and desk. This bedroom has a small balcony and built-in stereo. The upstairs bathroom has a sauna. An additional room can be made available upstairs, configured either as an executive office or as a bedroom with two twin beds.
There are two steps to the front door but once inside a couple may live comfortably on the main level without going upstairs.
All rooms have great views of Mount Sopris and the Crystal River!

Holiday in Carbondale, Colorado: From November through February bald eagles are seen around the house. The hummingbirds arrive in May, and Great Blue Herons fly along the river in spring and summer. Five different wilderness areas can be accessed within a one-hour drive. Aspen and Snowmass are 30 miles from this vacation rental, and Vail about one hour away. Moab, Utah and Arches National Park are a 3 hour drive from here.
Carbondale Restaurants: The home is a ten-minute walk from downtown Carbondale, which boasts some of the best restaurants in the valley if not the state, a wonderful little theatre, and some nice shops. One local chef has received numerous awards from the likes of Gourmet Magazine. This restaurant (SIX89) is a must. In addition, there is the Village Smithy for breakfast or lunch, Mambo Italiano for great tapas and meditteranean fare, Phat Thai for Thai food and White House Pizza, to name a few of our favorites.
Golf courses: River Valley Ranch is an excellent golf course within a ten-minute walk from our home which provides public tee times and public access to tennis courts. People often come from Aspen to play on this course. A 22 punch pass is available for purchase in the spring.
