    Holiday house in Ayrshire, Scotland - the self-catering East Wing, ideal holiday accommodation for two, is the former guest wing of Noddsdale, a B listed country house just outside Largs, in North Ayrshire on the West Coast of Scotland.
    The East Wing is a one-bedroom flat which was converted in the 1920's from the original farm buildings to form a guest wing for Noddsdale House. It is most attractive and the sitting room is particularly unusual with a pitched wooden ceiling. The self-contained accommodation comprises: hall, kitchen/dining, bedroom, bathroom, sitting room. Sleeps 2 in either 5’double or two 2’6” single beds in bedroom. Electric blankets. Double sofa bed in sitting room for additional two people, or extra single bed in hall if required. Well equipped kitchen. All linen and towels provided.
    Scenic views, the peace and quiet and a chance to get away from it all - There are lots of lovely golf courses and islands to visit too and we are only an hour away from Glasgow for museums and theatres and shopping. It is a great base for exploring the Firth of Clyde and into Argyll and Edinburgh is only 2 hours away!

    Only two miles from the centre of Largs, the East Wing is an ideal base from which to explore. There are various islands, castles, gardens, golf courses all of which are easily accessible either by land or sea. Alternatively, simply come for a chance to rest and recharge the batteries.

    Holiday in Ayrshire, Scotland: Set in peaceful and quiet surroundings amongst mature trees and shrubs with stunning views overlooking the Firth of Clyde and the Islands, this is a very special place to stay. There is so much to explore in this part of the world it can be difficult to decide what to do first!

    Largs & Cumbrae: Largs is a busy town with many shops, cafes and restaurants. The Viking Festival is held for a week at the end of August/beginning of September each year. Largs Yacht Haven at the south end of the town is a vibrant sailing centre and Kelburn Country Centre is close by, as is Largs Golf Club. Located at the North end of the town, Routenburn Golf Club is a hilly course, but the views are spectacular from the top! Take a trip on board the ocean going Paddle Steamer Waverley during July and August for a truly memorable day.
    Cumbrae is a popular island to visit and is ten minutes by ferry from Largs. Bicycle and tandem hire is available for the 11 mile round trip. The golf course boasts stunning views. The Cathedral of the Isles, in the town of Millport, is the smallest cathedral in Great Britian. Cumbrae Voyages offer the chance of a trip in a RIB to see the wildlife around Wee Cumbrae.

    Places to visit: Mount Stuart, home of the Marquis of Bute, on the Island of Bute is a treasure filled house and wonderful garden worthy of a visit. Arran, the largest island, has Brodick Castle at the foot of Goat Fell and the distillery at Loch Ranza in the north. Closer to Ayr lies Culzean Castle, Burns country and the famous Open Golf courses at Troon and Turnberry. A visit to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and Inveraray Castle along with the fascinating restored 19th century Inveraray Jail, would make a great day out and for those who like some culture, there are a number of excellent Art Galleries and Museums in Glasgow. North of the river, the gardens at Benmore near Dunoon are a lovely spot, as are Loch Lomond and The Trossachs beyond.

    Lets are from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am. NB Prices are charged per week according to the month in which each rental week begins. We may consider a different start day depending on availability. Booking is accepted with a Ł50 non-refundable deposit per week and balance payment is required four weeks before arrival. Cheque payable to Noddsdale Estate, or payment by Paypal.

    Electricity included in price. Access to the property is by ten steps, thereby making it unsuitable for disabled people or young children. We welcome children 10 years and over.
