History buffs will also want to explore nearby Bridgnorth with its ruined castle and funicular railway, and take a ride on a steam train on the Severn Valley Railway. Shropshire also boasts a large number of antique shops and reclamation centres.

Eneving Entertainment: Food lovers will want to make the short journey to the charming town of Ludlow, a renowned 'foodie paradise' which boasts Michelin starred restaurants and numerous shops selling produce from local and specialist producers.
For evening entertainment, there is an independent cinema and many charming pubs in Bridgnorth. The Edge Arts Centre in Much Wenlock hosts visits from small theatre companies and also has a great music programme. Shrewsbury offers a variety of night clubs and classical and jazz concerts. The Shrewsbury Music Hall stages performances from top comedians and popular music acts, while the Old Market Hall offers an interesting programme of independent films.

Travel Information: Upton Cressett Hall is conveniently located for access to the M5, M6, M54 and M40 motorways. The nearest station is fifteen miles away with frequent inter-city trains from London, Manchester and Glasgow, and services to Wales and the West Country.
