Here, visitors will find interesting shops and restaurants, cinema, theatre, a museum and market in its charming Georgian streets and, from the city‘s quay, a pleasant ferry trip can be enjoyed along the river to Falmouth. Mylor (8 miles) and Loe beach (3½ miles) are both popular for water sports and sailing, and the Bissoe Valley cycle trail, 1 mile away, provides cycle hire for exploring the old coast to coast tramway, a total distance of about 12 miles. Gardening enthusiasts will delight in the numerous subtropical gardens dotting the Cornish coastline – Trelissick Gardens (N.T.) are close by whilst Trerice and Lanhydrock (both also in the care of the National Trust) and the amazing Eden Project are all about 30 minutes‘ drive.
