Holiday in Nendaz, 4 valleys Verbier Valais: Nendaz is one of the best kept secrets in the alps, it lies at the centre of the Verbier - Mont Fort 4 Valley ski area and one of the only seven ski areas worldwide to hold 5 stars of excellence. It sits at an altitude of 1400 m offering excellent skiing and boarding from early December until late April. Nendaz is just over the mountain from Verbier and just 160km from Geneva airport (1 1/2 hours by car / 2 hours by train into Sion) It is a pretty village with outstanding views of the Valais region of Switzerland. Unlike many resorts Nendaz is alive all year round and in Winter hosts various world cup snowboarding as well as ski races. During Summer there are beautiful walks along ancient bisse, Mountain Biking and Golf to name but a few. It really is the ideal adult and family playground. The full area lift pass gives you access to Mont - Fort 3350 mtrs, Verbier, Siviez Veysonnaz, Thyon, La Tzoumaz and more, with some of the finest off - Piste in the world. Golf in Nendaz, Valais: The course at Sion is just 20 minutes away and is open practically all year round. There are 5 other golf courses within around a 1 hours drive. The 18 hole courses are at Verbier, Leuk Seuston and Crans-sur-Sierre, with another two 9 hole courses at Sierre and Crans-sur-Sierre. There are a further 2 nine hole golf courses within 2 hours drive at Matterhorn, the foot of the Alestch glacier in Riederalp and Source du Rhone. Getting to Nendaz, Valais: By air: flights into Geneva are available from most International Airports and served by many Lo-cost airlines. By road: motorway A9 to Sion, exit Sion-Ouest in the direction of Nendaz. Then 15 minutes drive (15km) up to the center of the resort. To drive on the motorway in Switzerland, there is an obligatory road tax called a “ vignette ” (CHF 40). By train: trains go direct from France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland to Sion station. From there, a regular bus service operates to Nendaz.
