Holiday in Alcossebre, Castellon: Approximately 1 hours drive north of Valencia and 1 hour drive south from Reus airport, the sought after village of Alcossebre is ideally situated in a privileged position surrounded by nature reserves and golden sandy bays. Awarded with the EEC Blue Flag for quality of beaches and facilities. Mirador Al Mar, situated on top of the Marcolina Hilllside and enjoying spectacular views over the nature reserve and Mediterranean, is a place to relax and enjoy yourself all year round with the sun and sea on your doorstep. Fine restaurants, a picturesque marina and safe sandy beaches are just a few minutes drive down the hill.
Average daily temperatures: December to January - 15 degrees, April, May, September, October - 25 degrees, June, July & August - 30+ degrees. Quiet, empty beaches out of season. Numerous festivals throughout the year.
Places of interest: Spa: Experience the brand-new spa complex at Oropesa aprox. 15 - 20 mins drive. Peniscola: Visit the old town of Peniscola with its cobbled streets and the majestic 13th century castle set high on the promontory which was built by the Knights Templar and used as the setting for El Cid. Valencia: The provincial capital and third largest city in Spain. The unique dry river bed gardens wind through the city towards the futuristic Arts and Science Centre, the fourth most visited attraction in Spain. Visit the old town with its impressive buildings and monuments or take a trip down to one of the beach side restaurants and try 'Paella Valenciana', where Spain's most famous dish originated from. Castellon: A large town with architecture to crane your neck for. Lots of little squares and high class shopping. The harbour area boasts long promenades and clean beaches. Visit the Water Park at Benicasim, the Planetarium at Castellon, local Dive Centre or go quad trekking through the nature reserve
Golf Information: Golf: Sergio Garcia's Home Club - The Club De Campo Mediterrano is only 40 minutes south nr Castellon. This scenic 18 hole course offers clases in English, Spanish and French. There is also a comprehensive driving range with 40 bays to practice. The most famous is The Panoramica Golf & Country Club - 18 hole - Par 72 - course designed by Bernard Langer in 1995. This challenging course boasts wonderful views of hills and mountains and is situated 40 minutes north of Las Fuents nr Vinaros. It offers a 50 bay driving range, lessons in English & Spanish and an extensive clubhouse with excellent bars, restaurants and amenities.
