Holiday house in Medina Sidonia, Cadiz -Casa del Azahar was built in the 18th century, its name is attributable to the huge orange-tree that presides its courtyard. A two hundred years old orange-tree which is identity’s sign of the house and in spring impregnates orange blossom’s odour in all the environment. Andalusian aroma, fresh and clean which characterizes the Andalusian mysterious nights.
The rehabilitation of the house has been done with utmost care and respect towards the local architecture, recovering materials such as floors, tiles, doors and windows and leaving clean, white and lightful spaces which make room for a simple decoration without ornamental superficiality. You can discover in the house vaults, wooden roof-beams, “sobraos”, mud and lime. Pure architectural essence dressed in Arabic floors full of colour: blue, yellow, green or broken reds. Delight for the sheerest hedonism. Our holiday house La Casa del Azahar is a rural house of higher category with three lounges, an ample solarium, terrace, dining-room and a local handiwork-, comercialshop as well... The House of Orange Blossom has got three suites and four rooms. All of them is different from the previous one and consist of an own WC. Stays invite for a rest. Modernity and tradition mixed, searching for calm, relax in its sheerest sense. The activity of the house is around the courtyard, with the archs, the cistern, the well and almizcate( Arabic barnyard). A huge courtyard presided by its immense orange-tree, below its shadow go by the Andalusian afternoons. Peaceful afternoons, without hurries, full of wisdom and tradition. A shadow supposes a relaxing corner to read and chat enjoying it and some olives. The oasis of peace in the whole Andalucia. A pleasure for your senses.
