Holiday on Pico Island, Azores: Pico is with 447 squarekilometers the second largest island of the Azores. The vulcano Pico (with 2.351 m or 7.711 feet at the same time the highest mountain of Portugal) gave the name to the island. For us, Pico is the most beautiful island. Everywhere it is flowering and green. For the ones who love nature, Pico is the best place. The climate is mild. The temperatures stagger between 14-18° C in the winter and 22-27° C in the summer. But sometimes it rains a little bit. It is advisable, to have light rain clothes in the luggage. On Pico there are museums (for example in Lajes do Pico: hosted in the old boatshouses is an expressivenessy museum. It has the “traditional whale hunting” as theme). Overlooking points (with wonderful panorama-views), many nice people, little villages and much, much nature.

Breathtaking coast: Nearly every single day in the summer dolphins pass by the coast. Sometimes, you can also observe whales from the land. The coastline of Pico is breathtaking. The volcanic orign of this island is always and anywhere present. The nature of the highland is totaly different from the coast-line. You might say, that you are no longer on this island, when you pass the mountain roads of Pico. There are also sweetwater lakes. This contrast ist unique and surprises anybody, who takes time to really explore this island. Going swimming on Pico means swimming in the little harbours (don’t be afraid! The water is absolutely clean. There are only little fishing boats) or on nature swimming pools. On the island there are also two open air swimming pools.

Activities: Ramble: this is the ideal island to ramble. The nature is still pure and the silence is a blessing. It offers wonderful ramble routes for one or several days on Pico. We know them and we help you with the routes. Mountaineering: you can climb up Pico mountain (2.351 m or 7.711 feet). With pleasure we help you with the preparation. Round the island by car: do you want to visit the island with a guide who knows the island? We can help you, too. Motorbike trips: we organize the trips for you. Arrival and departure days are considered as renting days.
