Cottage in Tavira, Algarve: Holiday Cottage in Eiras, Tavira, Algarve - The cottage is a traditional Algarvian country property, with traditional features such as bamboo/beamed ceilings and clay tiled floors. However, both units (DOMINO, ANTONIO) are completely modernised. The kitchens have a gas hob, plenty of hot water, a fridge, toaster etc. The bathrooms are traditionally tiled but have modern facilities such as showers, bidets etc. Hairdryers, irons, electric juicers are provided in each unit. There is no swimming pool but we have a large natural pond in the centre of the garden, which extends to 5,000 square metres. There is the use of a bread oven and barbeque with its own dining terrace. The holiday cottage has beautiful views and is on a tarred country road. The local bar is ten minutes walk away. 'Rush hour' is from 7.30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and consists usually of a couple of motorbikes, a few cars and the odd tractor! The location is in a tiny hamlet of 7 houses and the views from the terrace and the windows are stunning - very much like Tuscany. Notes: Antonio: The accommodation has a double bed with mosquito net, and two sofa beds in the lounge. There is a large dining area and a separate kitchen. The lounge has an open fire (wood provided) and there is a separate terrace overlooking the garden with the usual furniture. Electrical appliances are supplied, as is all linen and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped, but there is no oven as visitors have full use of the bread oven and barbeque. The cottage itself is one storey. A welcome pack is provided which will enable visitors to eat before shopping. 10% is charged for each additional person over two staying in the suite.
Domingo: This unit is attached to Antonio but has a separate terrace with furniture. There is a small lounge with kitchenette, a twin bedded bedroom with mosquito nets and a bathroom with shower and bidet All electrical appliances, linen and towels are provided. There is a welcome pack on arrival to enable the visitors to eat before they shop.

Holiday in Tavira, Algarve: The holiday cottage is situated in the rolling hills north of Tavira, reminiscent of Tuscany. There are small villages dotted around the hillsides and the area is designated agricultural. Tavira is a medieval city with many original churches and a castle and the remains of the walled ancient city are still visible. Tavira is considered the most beautiful city in the Algarve and so far is the best kept secret! The beaches are extensive with pale, fine sand. Tavira Island and Cabanas beaches are part of the Parc Rio Formosa and are reached by ferry in a few minutes. The bathing is safe and the water is clean. Manta Rota, 15 minutes away by car, is the first beach where no ferry is needed. Tavira Food Market is not to be missed. It is modern and clean and has a fish section, a meat section and extensive vegetable section. On the third Saturday of each month there is a large general market where clothes, bric-a-brac, anything up to agricultural machinery are sold. Golfing facilities: Benamore golf course is within ten minutes drive, and Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima 15 minutes drive away. Castro Marim course is 25 minutes drive, and of course just across the Spanish border (30 minutes drive) are the Isla Canela and Islantilla courses. We have a facility where a temporary membership card can be purchased enabling members to play on the Algarve for cheaper green fees. Details are available on request.

Notes to the Rates of the Cottage in Tavira, Algarve
ANTONIO: 200/week. Cleaning and gas and electricity costs included. In colder months, logs provided for the open fire. A 50% deposit is required with the booking at least eight weeks before arrival and the remainder to be paid on arrival.The deposit is non-refundable unless due cause for cancellation is provided. If both suites are required, a special rate will apply : high season £225 per week, £40 per night, low season £160 per week, £30 per night.
