The kitchen, which is newly refurbished and tiled, gives out onto the terraced area by the pool. It is well supplied with cupboard space and equipped with dishwasher, hob/oven, fridge/freezer, double sink and washing machine. It is a clean, bright and airy room with ample workspace, a variety of utensils and crockery. There is a toaster, juicer, liquidiser, iron and board and microwave. There is a bathroom on each floor, fully tiled and equipped with basin, toilet, bidet, full-size bath and shower facilities. Each of the three upstairs bedrooms has its own balcony and the double room on the ground floor overlooks the pool area. There is ample wardrobe and drawer space in each room. The sitting room is comfortably furnished and has a log-burning stove for the cooler weather. There is a television with satellite reception of BBC and ITV programmes and a VCR, together with radio and books for your entertainment. The dining room seats 8 in comfort.
Outside is a terraced area with a newly-built pool, freeform in shape, 8m x 6m max and from 1m to 1.75m deep. There is a table and chairs and loungers by the pool.

Holiday in Almadena, Lagos: Almadena is a friendly village with superb but inexpensive restaurants and a small general shop. There is a telephone box in the square that takes credit cards. Buses run from the square to Luz and Lagos where there are cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and all the services you may require. English is widely spoken.
Golf in Almadena: Golfers will enjoy the many fine courses including Boavista, Penina, Palmares and Parque de Floresta (the large golf and sports resort 15 minutes due west of Almadena).
Places to visit: Luz is 10 minutes away by car and its excellent beach has been awarded an EU blue flag. The town has old streets and fishermen's cottages and rewards exploration. Try to find the Roman archaeological remains! Lagos, the main town, has a fine marina with boat hire and watersports. There is a 17th century fortress, Forte de Bandeira, which may be of interest, with the slave market and town gate and remnants of old walls. Cape St Vincent, "The End of the World", is the most westerly point in Europe. Sagres has a Moorish fort perched on the cliff with dramatic sea views. Silves was the original capital and one of the oldest towns in the Algarve, with Moorish influences in the walled castle within the town.

Notes to the Rates of the Villa in Almadena, Lagos
A non-refundable deposit of Ł100 per week or part thereof, is required to secure your booking and the balance is payable 8 weeks before your departure date.
Bookings run from Saturday to Saturday in the high season, although between October and April, three or four day lets may be available on request from Ł275.
The villa in Almadena will be cleaned and ready for your arrival but, to make this run smoothly, guests are requested not to arrive before 2 p.m. at the start of their holiday and to leave by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.
