A booking on this ship is an unsurpassed experience guaranteed. The Eendracht is moored for your holiday in the outer part of the Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen! The outdoor part is closed to the public in winter, and you will therefore enjoy an outdoor museum in all tranquillity. There are two other sailboats in the museum, which means you can stay here with a group of 46 persons maximum. You can walk through the museum independently but it is more fun to use the special plus package which includes an exclusive guided tour and a dinner for your group in 1 of the special restaurants of the museum.
The location: The outer part of the Zuiderzeemuseum is erected from 130, mostly original, houses from places around the former Zuiderzee. These houses were destined to be demolished after the building of the Afsluitdijk (Closure dyke) in 1932, because life changed drastically. There are family houses, workshops, packing houses, shops, a church, a school and of course a wind mill. And of course a port with ships is not missing in this "watery" village. Your ship will be moored at the dyke in front of restaurant Hindeloopen in the outdoor museum in the so-called "bowl" of the outdoor museum.
The ship: The 'Eendracht' was built in 1900 and served as a freight ship until 1965. The 'Eendracht' has then been a storage ship for a while. In 1981 the current owners bought the ship and transformed the 'Eendracht' in four years to a sailing ship for charter sailing. This galliot is perfectly maintained and has a typical teak body. You will forget all the hustle of daily life on board of this beautiful sailing boat and fully recharge your batteries.
All in all a special experience in an extraordinary accommodation, in a very unusual location !
