Tripala has two apartments, one sleeps four people, the other six. Both have breath-taking views of the mountains and hilltop villages. The owners, Carlo and Sylvia, speak English and are always on hand to help if you need any advice.
Apartment Pizzo d’Uccello - this modern, luxury apartment is very spacious and beautifully decorated throughout. Ideal for outdoor living, the kitchen and dining area open onto a large sun terrace offering panoramic views of the mountains and medieval villages. There are two double bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other two singles. There is also a sofa bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room with toilet, and there is also a family bathroom with bath and shower. The beautiful new kitchen has a combined oven and microwave, convection hob, fridge and marble worktops. The apartment has wooden floors throughout, and beautiful furniture and fittings.

Situated in the Garfagnana National Park, the farm is an ideal base if you want to visit the historic towns of Tuscany, including Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The coast is only a short journey by car or train, so you can explore the beautiful fishing villages of the Cinque Terre and swim in the azure waters.
In the nearby medieval villages there are several pizzerias and restaurants serving tasty local cuisine – and wines made from grapes ripened on the nearby hillsides.

Apartment Pisanino - Sleeps four people: Ideal for a couple or a family with one or two children, this apartment has a beautiful sun terrace overlooking the swimming pool, gardens and mountains. There is a private entrance to the large veranda, and the apartment is very quiet. Inside, there is a large double bedroom with a cradle, living room with sofa bed and dining table, and bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen has modern fittings including a microwave oven, gas hob and cooker, fridge, kettle and toaster. There is also a television and radio. The apartment has central heating and a wood burner, so is ideal if you wish to visit in spring or autumn. The sun terrace has loungers and a table and chairs, so you can eat al fresco.
Tripala farm and gardens: Carlo and Sylvia farm organically at Tripala, producing olives, faro grain, chestnuts and vegetables in their kitchen garden. The surrounding gardens are particularly beautiful in spring and early summer, with colour and scent from the many rose bushes and peonies.
Places to Visit: The Garfagnana and nearby Liguria offer many attractions for tourists, but Tripala is the perfect place if you want to relax, swim, read and enjoy the clear mountain air. Families can play in the garden and get to know the farm animals – friendly dogs, lazy cats and the inseparable horse and donkey!
If you are feeling more energetic, try one of the many local walking trails in the Parco Regionale delle Alpi Apuane or the Tuscan Appenines (Parco dell’Orecchiella). Hire a mountain bike from the nearby village of Metra or go pony-trekking from Orecchiella or Fivizzano. There are also two large swimming pools in the area – at the Passo dei Carpinelli and at Equi Terme.
The Ligurian and Tuscan coast are close by, so you can explore the unspoilt fishing villages of the Cinque Terre, laze on the sandy beaches of La Versilia or shop in glamorous Portofino.
Lucca is only 60km away and is well worth a day trip. Marvel at the medieval and renaissance architecture!

Tripala is near the villages of Antognano, Pugliano, Metra and Pieve di San Lorenzo, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and facilities nearby. You can catch the train from Pieve to Aulla and connect to La Spezia (for the coast), Pisa and Florence, or take a direct train to Lucca.
