Villasimius is positioned at the top of the south east of Sardinia, ca. 1 hour by car from Cagliari. It is a wonderful place, that last year, won the second prize as touristic resort of Italy. In the surroundings there are dozens of wonderful beaches; a touristic port, with possibility to organize excursions to some little islands nearby; a wide selection of restaurants; discos and markets. The whole area is a marine park, where it is possible to admire a very limpid sea, magnificent sea grounds with a wide quantity of sea animals, among them a colony of tropical fishes from the Red Sea that is unique in the Mediterranean.
Villasimius as a tourist centre offers many hotels, restaurants, pizzerias, bars and shops to buy good food, crafts and gifts. It's life is mainly in the summer season. In the winter time it seems to be lightly overslept, but it is delightfully the same way. It offers also a good equipped harbour for the private yachts, from where you can explore the beautifulnesses of the coast. Villasimius offers also a lively night life, that means cocktail bars in the centre of the town and discos and clubs in the surroundings of the area.
