Cottage in Galway, Ireland: Clifden Glen Holiday Cottage in Galway - Clifden Glen is a holiday estate located one mile east of the town of Clifden, the capital of Connemara, in the townland of Couravoughill. The estate opened in 1992. There are 127 holiday properties at Clifden Glen. There is also a reception building, club bar and restaurant, and leisure facilities such as tennis courts (3), childrens' play ground, and mini golf on the site. Key site infrastructure such as the Owenglen river bridge and roadways, public lighting, water works and sewage treatment is owned by the management company and is not vested in Galway County Council. The Lodges: The three bedroomed detached lodges accommodate five people comfortably and extend to approximately 83 square metres. The main en-suite bedroom is located downstairs with a twin bedroom and a single bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. The living/dining and kitchen area features an open fireplace. Each of the lodges is double glazed with electric central heating. The Cottages: The one bedroomed cottage apartment suites include a sitting room and kitchenette and extend to just over 40 square metres. The cottages were designed to allow for an attic conversion which is subject to planning approval. Each of the lodges is double glazed with electric central heating.

To the south is a low lying terrain of bog and rocky outcrop, the beautiful white coral beaches, cliffs, picturesque fishing harbours and the Atlantic outposts of the Aran Islands. This is the Connemara landscape beloved of painters. To the north-east the region is dominated by the Twelve Bens and Maamturk mountain ranges culminating in the fjord of Killary. The area includes the wilderness of the Connemara National Park, the famous salmon fisheries of the Erriff and Delphi and the offshore island of Inishbofin. Connemara is a paradise for the game and sea angler, mountain walker, pony trekker, golfer, scuba diver, rock climbing, canoeist and sailor.
