Villa in Zakynthos, Ionian Islands:

Luxury villa in a peaceful location, close to the beach.

The Olive Tree Villas are ideally located for exploring the island of Zakynthos. Travel south only 4 kms for the major resort of Tsilivi, and 10 kms for zakynthos Town. The turtle bays of Laganas and Gerakas are a 30 min. and 45 min. drive away respectively, also to the south. The quiet sandy beach of Psarrou is only a 5 min. drive north, before another major resort, Alykes, 7 kms away. The mountain village of Volimes is a 40 min drive north, and another 10 mins finds Skinari and the famous Blue Caves and Shipwreck.

The Olive Tree villas are 12 kms away from Zakynthos airport and 10 kms away from the island's port in Zakynthos Town. Car hire is recommended, if only for a couple of days, in order to see the rest of this beautiful island. Local public transport systems are sporadic and not particularly effectual, so car hire is the best option for exploring Zakynthos.

Vill on Zakynthos: The Olive Tree Villas are just as suitable for families, couples, or groups of friends. All of the properties are fully air conditioned, with integral fly-netting throughout. There is constant hot water and a 7 day a week chambermaid service. Towels are changed daily, and bed-linen is changed every other day. Beach/pool towels are not provided. There are no pets allowed.

Outside: All villas overlook the beautiful gardens, lawn, and swimming pool. Each has it's own stone-built barbeque/patio area as well as verandahs at ground level, sun terraces upstairs in Villas Jasmine and Mimosa, and balconies upstairs in Villas Hibiscus and Oleander. Patio tables and chairs furnish all of them. The pool is large (12m x 8.5m) and has an adjoining childrens pool. The children's pool is 50cm deep, whilst the large pool has a 60cm shallow end and a 1m 50cm deep end. Two pool showers are set in the gardens. Sun loungers and umbrellas surround the pool, and there is plenty of natural shade from the mature olive trees as well. A pergola covered deck with garden table and chairs offers yet more relaxation, and there are garden benches and hammocks too. Two car-ports provide on-site parking for up to 4 cars.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach: Kypseli, is a 300 metre stroll down the quiet, narrow road. The beach here is mainly pebbles with some sandy parts, and remains peacefully unspoilt. The sea is clean and clear, safe for swimming, and great for snorkelling..even in the shallows.Two of the best fish tavernas on the island can be found along the beach here.For watersports,boat trips and other attractions associated with busier resorts, the sandy beaches of Tsilivi and Alykes are only 4 and 7kms away respectively.

Further details: The gentle pace of life here in Kypseli lends itself beautifully to simple, relaxed tourism. The predominently agricultural countryside spreads right down to the sea, and tourist accommodation in Kypseli is sprinkled between olive and citrus groves, vineyards and farm gardens. The heart of Kypseli is the picturesque hilltop village nestled around the church of St.Paraskevi. It's a 20min walkup a very steep hill, but the views are just stunning-and it is all downhill on the way back! The local well-stocked supermarket is only 300metres away at the crossroads, as is the nearest taverna. The supermarket sells postcards, stamps, souvenirs and phonecards. Turn left at the crossroads and 100metres away is a petrol station, with the village butchers shop a further 100metres on. Here they sell fresh, local meats. Turn right at the crossroads and 200metres away is the distinctive windmill of the village bakery. The bread is made on the premises and baked in wood-fired ovens-absolutely delicious! They also make a wide variety of cakes, cookies and pastries too. Nightlife in Kypseli is traditional and simple, but there's plenty of choice. There are 2 excellent fish tavernas, 2 restaurants, a beach-side garden bar and 2 grill-houses. The entertainment is informal and often impromptu, but always great fun. The more touristic resorts of Tsilivi and Alykes offer more lively and varied nightlife. Both have a wide choice of restaurants, grill-rooms and cafes and there are plenty of discos, bars & pubs providing live music, dancing, quiz-nights or karaoke. There are "mini-drivers" and mini-golf at both resorts, and Tsilivi also has a leisure centre/bowling alley, and a laser-game park. No trip to Zakynthos would be complete without an excursion to the famous Blue Caves & Shipwreck. One of the best ways to see them is to book the speedboat trip that leaves each morning from Tsilivi harbour, but there are also organised boat trips or coach tours that go there and, of course, car-hire.

Changeover days in our villa on Zakynthos are flexible.

20% non-refundable deposit, and balance to be paid on arrival. If the booking is made less than 8 weeks in advance the non-refundable deposit will then be 40% of the total, with the balance again due on arrival.
