Our holiday apartment in Murau is located within a charming & cosy traditional Austrian chalet overlooking the Rantenbach river with rapids & stunning in the medieval village of Murau, surrounded by extensive forests and lakes, situated in the heart of the Tauern and Nockberge massif.
The location is ideal for eventful holidays in a region, which tries hard to maintain the typical structures of the area. It is said to be still a hot tip for relaxation and Murau is also rich of culture and history.

The apartment is close to the 85m Gunster waterfall, Grenebzen Nature Park and a variety of swimming and boating lakes. The region is very popular for cycling, hiking, canoeing and fishing.
In the winter the chalet is surrounded by 7 Ski resorts, with Kreischberg and Frauenalpe within 7km and Präbichl, Hohentauern, Lachtal, Grebenzen & Turracher Höhe within 35km.
Ice skating and cross country skiing is available locally.

Murau, Styria in the Summer: The Murau region, with approximately 200 sunny days one of the sunniest parts of the Alps! In summer, you can hike, mountain bike, visit one of the many places of interest or visit "Graz" the city of culture 2003 or Mozarts Vienna in the North East.
Locally cultural visits include Hochosterwitz Castle, a boat-trip on the Lake Wörther, the Benediktine monastery of St. Lambrecht and Guided walks through the historic village of Murau.
Murau in the Winter: In winter we are surrounded by the 7 ski resorts of Präbichl, Hohentauern, Lachtal, Grebenzen, Frauenalpe, Kreischberg and Turracher Höhe - a multicentre ski pass is available from Tourist Information or any of the Ski resorts.
There is a local bus to transfer you from the chalet to the family ski resorts of Frauenalpe and Kreischberg.
Austrian ski resorts are clean, friendly and efficient. Resorts are less busy and less expensive than those in the Tyrol - So you get more skiing for your money...
