The nearby Munster Club welcomes bowls, tennis and squash players. There are several of South Africa’s top golf courses within easy driving distance, as is the Wild Coast Casino and Waterworld. Sea kayaking, mountain biking, and walking trails nearby.

Vacation in Munster, KwaZulu-Natal: Munster has a wonderful cove with a golden, sandy beach and extensive rock pools that provide endless pleasure. A 2-min drive takes you to Glenmore, a protected, supervised, swimming beach. Blue Flag is an international award given only to those beaches that meet excellence in safety, amenities, cleanliness and environmental standards. Beaches near South Coast Cottages with Blue Flag Status are Margate, Ramsgate and Marina Beach. There are also excellent surf and fishing spots all along the coast.
Enjoy walking trails up to 9km long in Mpenjati and Umtamvuna Reserves, and spot riverine and forest birds including Fish Eagle, and also antelope.
The Wild Coast Sun and Casino is only a 10-min drive away, where you can gamble, ramble, golf, horse-ride or enjoy the beach.
Between Munster and Glenmore lies an interesting shipwreck, the Nightingale, which was a fishing trawler that ran aground in 1933. Port Edward and TO Strand also have interesting wrecks to investigate.

Golfing in South Africa: Located on South Africa’s Golf Coast are eight superb golf courses within easy reach of the villa. Six of these are rated in the top 100 courses, of some 1600 courses in South Africa. Set in scenic, subtropical surroundings, often with wonderful sea views, this coast offers some of the best all-year-round golfing on the planet. Courses cater for both beginners and professionals.

Birding: The nine nature reserves on the South Coast boast a combined list of 386 species. Some of the rare birds one might hope to see include the Pied Mannikin, Narina Trogon, African Broadbill, Spotted Thrush, Orange Thrush, Blue Swallow, Cape Parrot, Knysna Warbler, Knysna Woodpecker, Half-collared Kingfisher, Finfoot and Broad-tailed Warbler. Pelagic birds also abound during the annual sardine migration in June/ July. Try out Mpenjati Nature Reserve for wetland, riverine, estuary and dune forest birds, as well as a sighting of the beautiful Fish Eagle. Umtamvuna encompasses riverine forest and rocky cliffs, where Cape Vultures are often sighted. Both are just ten minute's drive from South Coast Cottages. Spotted recently in the gardens of South Coast Cottages by our guests have been the Greater Honeyguide, Green Parrot, Brown Robin, Brown-hooded Kingfisher, Purple-crested and Knysna Loeries.
