How to get here: Directions:-
From Glasgow follow signposts to Stirling (M8 and M80)[From Edinburgh M9] then at Stirling, do not go into Stirling town, but at Junction 10 (M9) turn on to A84.(Signpost says Crianlarich and Callander) and follow this road for about 25 miles, through Callander, then Strathyre. In about 2 miles turn right at brown tourist sign at Kingshouse " Rob Roy's Grave, Balquhidder Church" Follow signs to Balquhidder and after Church and Rob Roy's Grave on right go about 200 yards and turn left ( at village hall and red telephone box, Loch Voil in front of you) Over narrow stone bridge and immediately turn right up our drive for about quarter of a mile and follow black and white sign (bearing left at junction) and you are here! You can of course visit Stirling which has the big supermarkets which are on the outskirts of the city for food and then rejoin the A84 North. Or there are smaller "Co-op" and Tesco supermarkets on the main street in Callander which stay open at least until 10pm.
Further notes on the house: The House is in the heart of the countryside. You will possibly meet the local Deer, Pine marten, squirrel and spectacular birdlife.
This is a comfortable old house with creaking floorboards plus perhaps an old ghost or two.
If you want Victoriana with even older historic features this is the place.
If you want a modern antiseptic new build with no character, you must go elsewhere!
