Places to Visit: Le Mont St Michel, 30 km due north, the spectacular Abbey is built literally just off the coast. At Cancale, 45km, there is a large sandy beach and a seaside town atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants selling Mussels and Oysters. At Fougeres, 30km, there is an imposing Medieval Castle, an old Quarter and modern shops. At Dinan, 50km, the River Rance passes through this old port where there are a variety of craftshops, cobbled streets, old fortifications and a plethora of restaurants. At Rennes, 40km, a cosmopolitan University City with Classical French Squares, the Breton Parliament Building, excellent shopping, multicultural- restaurants, and lively bars (including Irish!) At St Malo, 50km, the nearest ferry port,

Local Environment: There are woodland walks within half a km of the property. Le Foret de Ville Cartier, consisting of mainly beech trees, is 2km away. The forest also offers very quiet roads and gravel tracks ideal for mountain biking or traffic free cycling. The cottage is south facing with its own garden (a pleasant venue for alfresco dining), with off road private parking and bicycle storage. Meslay is a hamlet comprising cottages and small farms amidst undulating wooded and agricultural land.

Local Amenities: The nearest shops are at Bazouges La Perouse 3 km away, a village with interesting medieval architecture. a supermarket, Post Office, superb bakery;offering patisserie and bread delivery on Fridays. Creperie/Pizzeria, 2 restaurants, and a lively street market on Thursday. Tennis Courts, Pony Trekking and golf are also available. For children, there is a lake in the forest with pedal boats for hire and picnic tables / café-bar

The rental rates for this property are quoted in GBP per property per week.

Prices depends on season and include electricity, water, gas & wood, supplementary heating on meter. Please contact owner for more details. Sheets, Pillowcases, duvet covers & towels are not provided although if you are intending to cycle to the cottage then let us know and we will try and arrange them.

A deposit of one third (of total cost of holiday) when booking is required with the balance no later than 6 weeks before start of the holiday. When the balance is paid, we also like a separate cheque for £100 against breakages. This is not banked unless there is a problem! All monies paid will be receipted.

Change over day is Saturday although out of season we maybe able to accept mid week to mid week bookings, please ask. We ask that cottage is vacated by Eleven or that you do not arrive before 3.00pm (as applicable) to allow time for cleaning etc prior to arrival of the next guests. If vacating by 11 AM is not possible, please leave the cottage as you would wish to find it. The cleaner has other Gites to deal with and will not return to clean the cottage later in the day.
