Cottage in Val de Loire, France:
3 cottages and a B & B room, set in 2 acres of land on the edge of the village of Faye D'Anjou, amid the vineyards of the Coteau du Layon area of the Loire Valley. The cottages are ideal for individual lettings or for larger groups. The cottages are converted from buildings around the foundations of an old windmill in peaceful grounds of mainly grass, shrubs and trees. There is a large swimming pool, which is open from June until early September and plenty of space for a game of boules or to find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the wonderful views. The cottages are centrally heated, well furnished, and equipped. Cottage "Layon" has an open-plan living room with sofa and chairs, CD player, dining area with large table, a kitchen area with dishwasher behind bar divider. Master bedroom is with a double bed, en-suite bath/WC, French windows overlooking to the small terrace area. Bedroom 2 with twin beds, en-suite bath/WC, Bedroom 3 is with twin beds, French windows to front. Separate WC. Cottage "Aubance (sleeps 4) is with stable door to living room with sofa, desk and chair. Kitchen area with dishwasher, table and chairs. Stairs off kitchen to master bedroom (double bed), bedroom 2 (double bed). There is one bathroom and a separate WC. Cottage "Hyrome" has stable door to sitting room with sofa, dining table and chairs. Archway to kitchen, Stairs off kitchen to master bedroom (double bed), bedroom 2 (sinlge beds). Bathroom with W.C.

Holiday in Faye d’Anjou, Loire Valley: Faye d’Anjou is amid the vineyards of the Coteau du Layon area of the Loire valley. The area is ideal for walkers, cyclists, artists and photographers. Nearby is Brissac-Quince with lovely chateau and grounds, restaurants, horse riding, bike hire, and golf. The town of Angers, with fortified castle, wonderful tapestries and excellent shopping, is 30 min drive, and Saumur, famous for its chateau and the home of the Cadre Noir, a 40 min drive. River swimming is 20 min away Rochefort-sur-Loire. The sandy Atlantic beaches at La Baule and Sables d’Olonne are both about 2 hours away. Poitiers, with fascinating Futuroscope is a 90 minutes drive.
Angers, Saumur, Chateaux: Has a Chateau/Castle well worth a visit, including the renown Apocalypse Tapestry, 103 m long illustrating the last book of the Bible written by St John.
Culturally, there are museums, a magnificent Cathedral, and guided walks around the Old Town. It has an abundance of restaurants and bars, and for those that like to mix both, the Cointreau Museum.
Beautiful town, on the River Loire. Superb Chateau (unfortunately closed for restoration). Home to the world famous Cadre Noir. A tank museum, also a mushroom museum. Scores of Champigny houses some set in the limestone caves along the river.

Whilst slightly west of the main chateau territory, we also have within I hour the following, Usse, Plessis-Boure, Montsoreau, Serrant, Breze, Montreuil- Bellay, Montgeoffrey, and Chinon. The Abbaye Royale at Fontevraud the burial place of Richard the Lionheart, Henry II, and Eleanor of Aquitaine, is also well worth a visit.
