Children will enjoy the variety of wildlife: tours of the property may sight goannas, echidnas, bustards, perhaps a koala, but certainly kangaroos and wallabies. Near the house they can make friends with the resident geese, peacocks, chooks, ducks, guinea fowl, pig, dogs, cats, cockatoo, al pacas and often bottle feed a Joey and baby goats.
Spotlighting around the homestead reveals possums and bettongs under an amazingly star filled sky. Use the telescope to further your knowledge of stars you can see without the interruption of street lights. Accommodation is comfortable in the spacious downstairs area of a large queenslander. There’s an open dining area and lounge, equipped with books, games, TV and video; a bathroom with shower and bath, and a kitchen, should you prefer to self-cater. The alternative is to join the family upstairs for meals – breakfast on the deck, afternoon tea on the verandah, home-cooked dinners and a yarn about the day in the country.
